What Causes Pain In The Vulva And Difficulty In Breathing?

Hi, I recently finished antibiotics for a chest infection (pleurisy) and have been experiencing some unsettling symptoms. While I was on the antibiotics I had frequent diarrhea, however, after stopping for a couple of days, it came back and is only liquid accompanied by mucus. I have also been experiencing pain in my vulva and noticed bloody discharge yesterday. I fear I might have toxic shock syndrome, however I am on daily medication as well and I regularly have difficulty breathing, fatigue, and muscle aches, as well as a few other symptoms of TSS sporadically. I am wondering if I should I go to the ER or wait another day to see if it stops?

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this-

1) Do check your stool and add probiotics [Lactobacillus]for loose motion

2) Do a clinical exam by your doctor [Gyn] to confirm bloody discharge, and if it is due to yeast infection, then discuss with your doctor about [clotrimazole]cream on the vagina and [fluconazole]orally and if it is due to Trichomoniasis, then [metronidazole ] orally and it"scream on the vagina.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1) Try to avoid baths, hot tubs. Rinse the soap from your outer genital area after a shower, and dry the area well to prevent irritation. Don't use scented or harsh soaps, such as those with deodorant or antibacterial action.

2) Avoid irritants. These include scented tampons and pads.

3) Wipe from front to back after using the toilet.

4) Don't douche. Your vagina doesn't require cleansing other than normal bathing. Repetitive douching disrupts the normal organisms that reside in the vagina and can actually increase your risk of vaginal infection.

5) Wear cotton underwear. If you feel comfortable without it, skip wearing underwear to bed.
For fatigue, breathing difficulty and muscle ache do a culture of pleural fluid, [Pleural biopsy] and CT scan if your problem persists despite taking oral antibiotics to know the exact cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
