What Causes Pain In Thigh When Fracture Is In Pelvic?

my mom got a accident 2 years back.she gaot a fracture and a steel rod is inserted in her legs.now is is having a pain in a region opposite to fractured area(pain in thigh and fracture in pelvic).so is this pain is due to that rod or something else.she is also having thiroid.plz tell
