What Causes Pain In Throat While Drinking Hot Or Cold Liquid?

Hi, I get a bit of pain in the throat when I drink some thing cold or hot. Would you be able to tell me why that happens?

I am 31 years old and I used to smoke till about last year. I am wondering if that has had any major effect on my throat.

Thanks,
skfren

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you have stopped smoking long back, it may not have any effect of this problem.
It appears to be a viral infection, or a bacterial infection of the throat.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms erithromycin, phenylephrine, citrizine, and paracetamol.
Avoid taking fruits, juices, ice cream, ice water.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
