What Causes Pain In Thumb?

i have a dull ache the distance of the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pointer finger under my right arm, kinda feels like a cracked rib but i dont have a cracked rib. its dull ache comes and goes about 4 times a week. what could it be? it is happening right now.
