What Causes Pain In Underarm Of A Child?

My 10.5yr old son is complaining of underarm pain, not in the middle but towards the upper pit on his left side. I felt for lumps and I do not feel any. What could this be? I am taking him for his 11yr old check up in two weeks, can I wait to ask his doctor then??

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have underarm pain in a child . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , cat scratch disease , lymphadenitis , hodgkin's lymphoma , cyst , chickenpox , infectious mononucleosis or allergic reaction . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin , anti inflammatory along with immunosuppressnats . Doctor may also recommend surgical removal of cyst . For now apply warm compresses in underarms and take bendryl twice a day .
