Hello,

It is good to know that your blood reports and CAT scan for intestinal regions are normal. Pain in the upper back is commonly due to overuse, strain due to heavy work or weight lifting, injury to the muscles, ligaments, poor posture, slip discs, herniated disc, developing OA, RA or sciatica. You should check the mattress on which you sleep, it should be medium firm. Maintain correct posture while sitting, standing or sleeping. Heating pads, pain relieving ointment or sprays may help.

You can take Naproxen or Combiflam one SOS when pain. Stretch exercises under a physiotherapist may ease pain. Avoid constipation, take laxatives at bed time. Stay well hydrated. If you do not get relieve get clinically examined by an orthopedics you may need to do blood tests to detect arthritis and get X-ray / CT done for the area affected. You will be treated accordingly. Left sided pain may be indicative of developing CAD (pericarditis, angina, symptoms of heart attack, etc).

You are suggested to get routine cardiac function tests and investigations done. Your treatment will depend on your symptoms and severity of the pathology detected. If obese, do regular walking and exercises. Avoid oily, spicy food. Stay away from carbohydrates, sugars, trans fat, full fat dairy products, etc. Take food cooked in olive oil. Take whole cereals, fruits and veggies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
