What Causes Pain In Upper Chest And Shoulder Area?

Yes, I am having pain in my left shoulder area and in my left upper chest. When I take deep breaths in it starts in the chest and then goes up into the left shoulder. When I lie down I have throbbing in the left chest also but not when I m sitting up. Do I need to get immediate attention? Thank you so much.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Yes, you should definitely consult doctor without wasting time because heart diseases cause similar symptoms.
Coronary artery disease presents with similar left sided chest pain radiating to left shoulder and arm.
So immediately consult doctor and get done ecg and 2d echo.
If both are normal than no need to worry for cardiac diseases.
Sometimes musculoskeletal pain also cause similar symptoms.
So apply warm water pad on affected areas. Start painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Avoid movements causing pain.
Don't worry, you will be alright. But first rule out heart diseases.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
