What Causes Pain In Upper Left Arm And Neck?

I am a 29 year old female. I only weigh 108 pounds. The weight is normal for me, no weight loss issues, eating is normal. Never had low or high blood pressure. I have epilepsy had it for 8 years bows. Have not had a seizure since 2008. I m on medication for that and it works great. I also have asthma, but that s in control too. Recently, I have had pains in my upper left arm and also a little bit of that side of the neck, it s been happening for a while now. I have gone through several pillows to help support my head at night while I sleep and no help. Can someone please give this reasonably healthy young woman an idea of what it could be?! Thank you. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of normal weight and appetite, normal blood pressure, known epilepsy for 8 years under treatment, controlled asthma but now pain in the neck and left upper arm.
If the pain in chronic the possible cause is obviously and most probably related to the neck muscles spasm or cervical spondylitis.
This can be detected by clinical examination and MRI of the cervical spine.
Take muscle relaxant and painkiller under the guidance of your Doctor as you are already taking treatment for epilepsy.
Pillow should be adjusted as per your requirement as there is no specific specification as the size of neck, length, the spine curvature of every person is different.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
