What Causes Pain In Upper Left Chest?

I m having pain on my upper left chest below my collar bone. It s painful every time I take a deep breath. Also, a little pain on my upper left back side beside my shoulder blades. Just a few days ago, I had a terrible migraine, heartburn, nausea but no fever. But this migraine caused me to throw up mostly bile 4 times. This only lasted for one day and the vomiting only within an hour frame. Does this strain muscles on my chest? Or it has something to do with heart problem? I ve been stress lately and right now feeling bloated a bit.

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

You have gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms. The pain doesn't seem to be due to heart issue but you can never say with surety until you see the patient in person for evaluation. For being sure about heart, when you go to your primary care physician ask him to do a cardiac evaluation too to make you satisfied.

You need proper care and treatment to get rid of this pain. There may also be present some gastric ulcer that may also cause such a pain.

Management:
Take plenty of water, vegetables, salads and fruits.
No red meat and no refined grains, beverages, caffeinated drinks etc.
Take Pantocid-L by mouth.
Citrucel dietary fiber supplement.
No alcohol, no cigarettes.

Precaution:-
Don't take NSAIDs (the pain killers, as these may aggravate the problem).

Referral suggestion:-
If you feel nothing is working good for you after 2 weeks, go to a gastroenterologist for a Gastro-esophaoscopy to rule out if there is any ulcer or a change in the mucosa of the esophagus due to continuous irritation by the stomach acid.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead.
