What Causes Pain In Upper Part Of The Body Upon Exertion?

I am experiencing a pressure like feeling on the RIGHT side of my upper body running from the shoulder area up into the neck and chin. This occurs when trying to walk at a brisk pace or going up a grade on the road. It resides and disappears when I slow down or stop and sit. Is this a medical concern? I am 80 years old in reasonably good health, but type 2 diabetic. Thanks, Jim

Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Concerning your history of pressure feeling from your shoulder up to the neck and chin during exertion with a type 2 diabetes I am sure you are gradually developing a peripheral neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy is one the features of type 2 diabetes along with other features which include reticulopathy vasculopathy and neuropathy

In view of this please schedule an appointment with a neurologist specialist for expert clinical evaluation as well as adequate drug prescription

Meanwhile take some multivitamins pending your appointment

I hope this helps Regards
