General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in upper abdomen immediately on eating indicates gastritis that is acidity related issues. Lots of loose motions indicate entero-colitis. Both combined together can be due to a condition called gastroenteritis. Hence I would like to advise him the following:
-Get the stool checked for 3 consecutive days which will help a lot to get a proper diagnosis.
-If the infection is present then a course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole and probiotic should help to resolve the issues.
-As was told about pancreatitis, can occur without alcohol due to another condition like gallbladder sludge or stone passage causing obstruction to pancreatic duct, viral infections and so on. And it might have subsided also.
-Also needed is to take a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone, and antacids as needed for symptomatic relief and supportive treatment in the form of the electrolyte solution, plenty of oral fluids and so on.

Take an opinion of another gastroenterologist to make this sure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. T Chandrakant
