What Causes Pain In Uterus Region While On Birth Control Patch?

Im currently on the birth control patch. Ive been having uterus pains for a while now. My breasts also hurt. I think thats more In my muscles below mu breast though. I had a yellowish green discharge a day ago. And a few days ago I had discharge with little red flecks in it. Could I have an infection? I have sex with my boyfrien, frequently, without a condom.. We assume we re safe because I am the patch. Although the corners tend to lift up. Ive had a few end up only stuck on in the middle. Could pregnancy be possible?

Hello,

Such discharge is indicative of infection. It can be indicative of a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Get STD tests and all required tests done to detect trichomoniasis, gonorrhea and chlamydia, etc. Your treatment will depend on the infection detected. Uterine pain also occurs due to cervical polyp, fibroid, endometriosis, etc.

Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get USG and other imaging tests done. Get treated at the earliest. Birth control patch is reliable, You shouldn't be pregnant unless the patch has expired. However, get a urine test for pregnancy done to stay on the safer side.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

When used correctly, birth control patch is 99% effective. Each patch lasts for 1 week. If you use it correctly, chances of you getting pregnant are very very meagre. As you are having greenish discharge, it might be due to vaginal infection. The following are few probable causes of pain in uterus region and vaginal discharge:
1) Pelvic inflammatory disease
2) Vaginal trichomoniasis
3) Bacterial vaginosis

Treatment depends upon the cause of infection. Mostly pregnancy is not possible as you are on patch. If the patch is expired and you have had sex after expiration of patch, then pregnancy may be considered. You can go for urine pregnancy test at home. You may need to consult a gynecologist for examination in person of vagina and initiation of treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
