Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sustained a wrist injury while lifting in the gym. I was in the neutral position trying to invert a rather large dumbell vertically into pressing position (shoulder presses)...I heard a loud pop, but no real pain. I was able to complete the set and my workout. I have some discomfort and decreased range of motion with wrist extension. The only time I feel pain is when I am pulling with my hand in the prone position.
Some tedon has been pulled which need little rest and antiinflammatory spray. It is better not to do exercise for sometime
To my own patients I do give turmeric powder to be taken with warm milk or water for few days. It has anti inflammatory and analgesic effect and healer also. Alternatively Haridra capsules (haridra means turmeric) .at also be given.
Hope it helps you.
