What Causes Pain In Wrist And Joints?

I woke up with signs and symptoms of flu virus, but ...my joints feel weak and hurt and if I life even a book I get shooting pains in the wrist for example and feel like I am going to drop the book and then my wrist has been hurting all day. I t has gotten worse as the day goes on. Is this the symptom of a flu virus?
