What Causes Pain In Wrist Radiating Towards Elbow After Having Angiogram?

Hi. I had an angiogram ( via the right wrist ) approx 4 weeks ago but for the last two weeks I have been having pain in the right arm - from the wrist through to the inside of the elbow. Could the pain be a delayed issue from the angiogram or is this just a coincidence ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
If the vein on your right wrist/ dorsum of palm, was used for IV infusion, the pain you have is due to inflammation/ infection of the vein.
thromboplebitis )
It needs immediate attention. Usually .. rest to the part ( avoid movements.. to avoid migration of thrombus through venous course
)/ antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs & local ointments of heparin ( Thrombophobe ) are given to such patients.
You should consult your doctor & take treatment to achieve healing & avoid further complications.
Thanks.
