What Causes Pain Inside Lower Right Side Of Mouth?
I am having pain in the lower right side of my mouth. Have been to the dentist, had an xray and no cavity or infection was found. They recommended a mouth guard which I am using nightly but the pain is still there mostly after I eat. I am trying not to eat on the right side but I am wondering if there may be some other cause of the pain.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms pain on the right side of mouth after eating can be due to another reason if no dental problem is diagnoses.. The cause can be related to the Submandibular Salivary Gland,if there is obstruction in the duct of the gland due to some foreign body or formation of stones there can be swelling as well as pain in gland during and after eating which subsides gradually.. A cross sectional x ray can help in ruling out the cause..
One more cause can be related to any disorder related to the jaw joint and a full mouth x ray known as Orthopantomogram can help in ruling out the exact cause..
You should consult an Oral Physician who can evaluate you thoroughly and do necessary investigations and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take Ibuprofen for pain relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
