I am 68 and have 110/61 vitals with a sharp pain in back near left shoulder blade, and have had two major blockage causing heart attacks. Should I be concerned or would the fact that I could have easily trained a muscle today doing plumbing work overhead in the basement?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to ask you one question:
1. any medication you are on?

As you have history of major blockage, I would like to suggest you to have another ECG.
Some other tests I would like to suggest:
1. Lipid Profile
2. Fasting blood glucose.

I also suggest you not to do any hard or heavy work like you said you have done.

There is also a need to hear your heart beat rhythm with a stethoscope. So, consulting in this case is suggested.

I also suggest you not to have fast food, oily/spicy foods, alcohol (strictly not), smoking.

With the results, please post another question. I may follow you up and take the next course of treatment. Thank you and do not worry. Please do not delay in doing the tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
