What Causes Pain On The Back After Cauda Equina Syndrome Surgery?

After my emergency op for caudia equnia syndrome, I still have continued back pain & right leg pain.it s been almost 9 Yrs now.one of my scan showed scar tissue. The one with the dye contrast.but I have had more mi scan with out the dye contrast. Nothing mention about scar tissue .latest me scan shows.... Opinion degenerative L 5/S1 Dis disease with boney changes & inflammation bones around bone & disk. What is the cause of my chronic pain? Does scar tissue only pick up on me with dye?? Consultant said lumbar fusion could be done but isn t funded anymore on nhs as sole sympyomat ology.

Hello,

It could be neuropathic pain. As first-line management, you can try analgesics like Gabapentin. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
