What Causes Pain On The Bottom Of Feet?

IN the last 6 months I have been having pain in my feet. It started when I started walking 3 mi a day. I stopped walking for 2 months now but I still have pain in my feet. It s usually in the morning, when I get out of bed, or when I have been sitting for an hour or so. It s a dull aching pain on the bottom of my feet and sometimes I also have shooting pain in the top of my foot.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to the HCM
Pain in foot can be caused by increased weight (make sure you have right BMI),low calcium, high uric acid level and low vitamin D.I would also like to know ,weather you have got and swelling in ankle joint? and have you got checked your blood sugar level recently? As diabetes can also cause these symptoms.
I would sugget until you get some routine test to rule out feet pain, soaking your feet in warm water for 15 minutes daily ,could help decreasing the pain.
Hopefully my answer will be helpfull.
Regards,
Dr.Maheshwari
