What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of The Head And Around The Ear?

Hello Dr, I have had excruciating pain on the left side of my head and area around my ear since about three o clock yesterday, Sometime it feels like it s throbbing, I put an ice pack on it about an hour ago and it feels a lot better, aif it does not go away by morning, do you think I should call my Dr,?d

Hello dear,
I understand your concern.You are apparently having acute onset throbbing unilateral headache.Though,it is classically seen in migraine,however some hallmark features of migraine are -nausea,increase in headache on exposure to bright light and sound,visual aura.In any case,if you don't have a past history and acute onset headache is so severe,it needs to be evaluated by a physician.I hope this reply helps you.
