What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of The Head?

My friend has been suffering from severe pain on the left side of her head, which includes her scalp, painful to even touch hair, severe ear pain, pain is severe enough that if she is up for long, or tylenol runs out, she becomes nauseated. Trouble sleeping, sinus pain and drainage as well. Her FNP wants her to treat as TJM with ice & tylenol for the next two weeks. After reading the symptoms, it didn t sound quite right.
