General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Though I could not see the photo... I could guess what & wherein is, from your description. It seems to be inflammation of Bartholin gland... situated in the lateral vaginal wall. It forms a painful knot there... which may keep on recurring & get converted into an abscess.
I the beginning it mostly responds to anti-inflammatory drugs over the counter along with local hygiene & mild hot pack... if not resolved within three days... please consult a gynecologist for needful antibiotic & other specific treatment that is needful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
General & Family Physician
