What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Belly Button?
My son, 14 yrs old, is having pain to the right of his belly button that came on pretty sudden this afternoon. I m trying to figure out if I should wait it out or take him to the ER. He has had three bowel movements today so he s not constipated to our knowledge. Should I be concerned about appendicitis?
As your 14 years old sod has had three bowel movements today, I think the pain he is having on the right side of the belly button is due to acute bowel infection he is experiencing (gastroenteritis).

What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Belly Button?
Hello, As your 14 years old sod has had three bowel movements today, I think the pain he is having on the right side of the belly button is due to acute bowel infection he is experiencing (gastroenteritis). Give: - tasectan for frequent bowel movement - probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora - paracetamol for the pain - increase water intake If still no improvement within a day or two, then, should send him to ER to get immediate evaluation for appendicitis. However, if you still are worried, then, send him right away to ER to rule out appendicitis in order to put your mind at ease. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
