General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You can use a hot pad on the area/take over the counter pain medicine Ibuprofen for home management.
The pain you are asking about seems to be more likely to be a pain due to a compressed nerve in the neck region (Brachial plexus) by a cervical rib/higher up at cervical spine.
Apart from getting heart problem excluded by a cardiologist (for your satisfaction) you should get x-ray cervical spine neck region to confirm the causative factor & get specific treatment by an orthopedic surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
