What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Head?

My 90 year old mother-in-law has been having pain on the right side of her head. She describes it as her head feeling full or swollen, but it does not appear like that. Her eye doctor did a biopsy of a vein close to her right eye in the temple area and it was negative. Her ear doctor checked her ear ( which she also complained about it having pain in it) and he said her ear was fine and very clean. She has had a mini stroke in the past, and she is diabetic and has weak kidneys, heart, and lungs ( she is on oxygen 24/7 too). What could be manifesting these symptoms?

Hi,

Thanks for your query on HCM

I do understand your concern

“As” per your clinical history is concerned first do few things to pinpoint diagnosis so do MRI scan to rule out present TIA and past TIA, do one Doppler study for carotid arteries to rule out carotid stenosis, do an ECG to rule out cardiac problems.so take treatment as per findings and in my opinion it is due to internal artery problem and lifetime medication like aspirin, clopidogrel, and dipyridamole is required.

Hope that helps
