Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is 47 and she has fibromyalgia. A couple weeks ago, her arm started to hurt. The pain starts at the right side of her neck. It goes down her shoulder, and follows her muscles and tendons all the way down to her wrist. Her lymph nodes are swollen and her muscles are very tight. Her chiropractor told her that she has pinched nerves on her neck, and that she needs to massage, ice, and stretch it. She s been doing this, but the pain has only been getting worse. Any idea what it might be?
As per the signs and symptoms of your mother it looks she is suffering with cervical spondylitis, the nerve compression may be because of the same reason. One thing that concerns is her lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph node). You didn't mention where is its location.
You need to visit an orthopedic surgeon to get proper opinion after either taking x ray of neck or do a CT scan. Neck exercises or massage may increase or worsen your condition, so avoid it till you get an orthopedic consultation.
Hope I have answered your query.
