Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pain in the right side of my neck for a few weeks now. It comes and goes. It can come from my jaw to my shoulder, sometimes it radiates down the back of my right shoulder blade (quite often) from the back of my neck. It all seems to come from positions. But it is escalating to times when I have had not neck pain. It is like a nerve radiating down to my shoulder blade, or deep muscle soreness on the right side of my neck. I have heard that heart attacks can radiate from neck to shoulder. do I need to check in with a dr.? YYYY@YYYY
Hi, Yes pain from heart may radiate to arm from chest .Howe'ver heart pain is very rarely on right side .and it does not go to the back or the blade back .It also comes with exertion and may cause difficulty in breathing and sweating .So it does not sound to be from the heart . This most likely appears to be mechanical pain either from your muscles or some times nerve trapped in the spine .I would advise you should focus to correct your posture .Do some physiotherapy and use some pain killer .Heat application may also be very helpful.
Howe'ver if you have chest pain on left side or with exertion or with shortness of breath then you should seek help urgently . Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
