Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in the front side of my shoulder just above my pectoral muscle. I had a slight popping noise when I getting down on the floor before the pain began. My arm also felt slightly numb but is better now. Did I pinch a nerve? or is it something more serious?
I am Dr.Saddiq ul Abidin. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.
Your pain doesn't seem to be an alarming situation or something which should be considered as an emergency. There can be two possible causes of what you are having, This could be because of a pinched nerve as you said and it could be just because of some stretch on shoulder joint structures like ligaments and muscles.
I would suggest you not to panic. In either case you don't have to rush to the doctor because it is already getting better and i expect it to get even better in two to three more days.
You can take tablet Tylenol for pain relief. Warm compresses to the area can help loosen up the muscles under spasm and eventually will speed up the recovery.
I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and close the discussion
