Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in tongue after a week of dental extraction that is happening only at the side where the extraction is done can be due to any sharp portion of bone protruding from the socket that when rubbed with the tongue mucosa cause pain and even the area can get ulcerated and painful..
Tongue bite while chewing can also be a cause..

As if has happened after one week of tooth extraction, therefore it does not seems to be related the tooth extraction causing it..

I would suggest that she should consult a Dentist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and x ray has to be done to rule out the exact cause for the symptoms and appropriate treatment will be done accordingly..

As of now she can apply numbing gel over the painful side and take a soft diet..

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards..
