What Causes Pain One Sided Lower Abdominal Pain?

I am a male age 61 and have a pain in my lower right stomach area, maybe a little below that. Any time I lift something or stress that area the next day it seems tender. I had it checked by a doctor a year or so back for a possible hernia and also did the thing were you drink fluids and they run you though the scanner but nothing showed up. In the past few days it seems like what ever is there is becoming larger and more painful. No other symptoms other than minor back pain on the same side and elevation.

I recommend to do an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis.

If the hernia is confirmed the treatment consists in surgery.
