What Causes Pain Radiating From Abdomen To Leg And Ribs?

hi, my name is Lexie and my mom is 41 years old. She is complaining of a very painful sharp pain coming from either her ovary or her appendix and shooting down her leg and up to her ribs. I m very concerned, she was almost in tears which means that her pain is really bad... she doesn t want me to call anyone. Could this be something serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear patient,

the pain in the right lower abdomen you are desribing can come from appendix or ovary inflammation as you are describing. Other possibilities are an inguinal hernia but also lower back pain with irritation of the ischiadic nerve. I strongly recommend ruling out serious conditions like the first two mentioned infections by your local doc.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
