What Causes Pain, Spasms And Numbness At Rib Cage And Kidney Stone?

I have had to cat scans with and without the dye and all they have found is a kidney stone. I am hurting and have pain, spasms, numbness starting at my left rib cage going all the way around to my left kidney area. Now it s going up the side of my breast. Could a kidney stone cause all of this? Please help!

Hello,

the kidneys may cause pain that starts on the back (flank pain) but may radiate to the front (abdomen). A kidney stone should cause obstruction, for the pain to occur. Other potential causes of pain in this area include:
- shingles
- lung base problems (the pain is usually pleuritic)
- heart problems (like pericarditis, also pleuritic).
- nerve problems (pressure on nerve root, by a protruding intervertebral disc for example)

I hope I've helped!
Kind Regards!
