What Causes Pain/strain Underneath My Tongue When I Do Cardio?

When I do cardio, usually pretty vigorously for it happen, the part of my mouth underneath my tongue hurts. The best way to describe it would be a strain in the area. It goes away after cardio, though. I read somewhere online that this occurs in ONLY A blood type individuals, but that doesn't make any sense to me. I also read that it can have something to do with dehydration, but I drink 3L of water, no flavoring, each day, more when I exercise. I'm just curious because it has been happening for as long as I can remember.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in tongue during cardio exercise is not commonly due to any serious underlying illness and can occur due to a few conditions like excessive dehydration during cardio exercise, clenching of teeth during exercise, mouth breathing and at times if you are exposed to any allergen in the air during exercise can lead to tongue pain..

A medical condition which is commonly seen in elderly known as Giant Cell Arteritis can cause tongue pain during workout..

As a part of remedy it is advisable to sip a little water at intervals during exercise.
Avoid clenching of teeth and breathe from nose, and at times for those who cannot manage to do it are advised to wear Mouth guards..
If you are allergic to anything it is better to avoid contact with that allergen..
Keep the muscles of the body and tongue relaxed while exercise..
Do medium workout and do not over exaggerate..
In case if you do not find any relief you should contact a physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
