What Causes Pain, Swelling And Redness In The Lower Legs?
A week ago, I did alot of walking at a park...it was very hot outside as well. I came home and my lower legs were all red, prickly and swollen. They swell normally as I am overweight. I looked on line and saw a diagnosis of golfer s vaculitis and saw a picture of it and it looked pretty near what I m experiencing. I laid low/elevated my feet and used aloe vera and in a few days it was reduced. It has started back up again...wondering what I can do to get rid of this as it is a bit uncomfortable.
The starting point for this condition is the build up of blood in the legs which then causes inflammation.
One of the main aspects of treatment would be to reduce the swelling by elevating the legs as much as possible.
The inflammation may be reduced by using anti inflammatory pain medication even if there is no pain at the moment eg ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam. If there is any itching, also consider the use of an antihistamine
All of these meds are over the counter.
I hope this helps
