What Causes Pain, Swelling In Vagina After Sex During Pregnancy?

I am 31 weeks pregnant and sex has been a no go for the last 4months. If I do have sex it is extremely painful and my vagina hurts both inside and outside for at least 1 hour afterwards and swells up. I have also been experiencing extremely smelly discharge, I can even smell it through my trousers during the day at work. I have got medication for thrush but this hasn’t worked. I’m afraid that these cases may be linked and will cause a horrific labour. What is wrong with me?

Thanks for asking in healthcaremagic forum
Though sexual intercourse is avoided during first and least trimester. Swelling and pain with foul smelling discharge is unusual at this time and are suggestive of infection.
So, please visit your gynaecologist for examination and further management without delay.
All the best.
