What Causes Pain To The Right Of Stomach Which Increases On Movement?

Two days ago I was at work and i sneezed a couple of times and I felt a sharp pain on my right side of my middle torso. The pain was so intense that I got up to walk if off. I was not able to bend or twist my torso because the pain was great. I now feel a bruise and can not bend or twist my torso a lot. I can walk and sit for a while but if I sneeze I get a horrible sharp pain that I have to walk around and breath to stop the pain. I can sleep if I lay on my back and not lay on my right side. When I move the sharp pain hit me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain may be related to pleurits or due to soft tissue injury of a chest muscle. Pleuritis is inflammation of the pleura which is the lining of the lung.

Treatment of either of these would involve the use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen.
One of these can be used and would be available over the counter.

I hope this helps
