What Causes Pain Under Breast Post Radiation Treatment For Invasive Ductal Carcinoma?
hello!.not sure this is for gyn/ob but I was unable to select a specialty .....just finished radiation right breast for IDC...did have two breast infections while undergoing treatment and lymphedema....I now have pain under same breast..in rib area. It has now progressed into what feels like a cord that runs along the edge of ribs down the abdomen....about 3 inches...thought it was a blood vessel...but not so sure now...this area of abdomen felt very swollen...very uncomfortable and the cord hurts when palpitated...I have no fever....any clue?
As per my clinical experience, the pain under breast post radiation for invasive ductal carcinoma indicates possible causes as: - Post radiation fibrosis or breast tissue - Destruction of draining lymphatics - Blockage of subcutaneous blood vessels - Others
However, an MRI of the breast area will help to reveal the finer aspects of diagnosis and cure accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
