Shortness of breath, wheezing,
chest pain etc are seen in both, COPD and
heart failure.
So better to
consult doctor immediately and get done
1. Ecg and 2d echo to rule out heart failure.
2. Chest x ray to rule out
lung infection.
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to know the severity of COPD. Treatment of COPD is based on severity only.
You may need diuretics, antibiotics, inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
So don't wait at home, visit emergency room and start appropriate treatment.
