Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain Under Left Rib Cage And Shortness Of Breath?
I think I am suffering from a hiatal hernia. Pain under left rib cage, shortness of breath, bloating, cannot breathe thru nose, eyes hurt and runny, diarreah, sore muscles and cramps, tiredness, depression. Cannot get any relief. Lightly massaging area under breast bone and rib cage helps a little
Your symptoms are not typical of hiatal hernia. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests: - Complete blood count, PCR, ESR - Thyroid hormone levels - Liver and kidney function tests - A resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound - Vitamin D levels for possible deficiency You should discuss with your doctor on these tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
