What Causes Pain Under My Left Shoulder Blade?

I have a spot that is right below my left shoulder blade, near the middle of my spine, that has sudden pain since I woke up today. It feels like a single tiny muscle is contracting and won't let go. This gets worse momentarily if I lean in any direction.
