What Causes Pain Under Right Arm While Using Symbicort For Mild Emphysema?
I have developed allergies in recent years after moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida 22 years ago. I started allergy shots three years ago and have had some improvement, but I still wheeze and cough more that I used too when I lived in Los Angeles. I have visited a pulmonologist who, after ordering a pulmonary cat scan, diagnosed a touch of emphysema and prescribed a inhaler, Symbicort which I use very sparingly. I recently developed a pain under my right arm just forward of the pectorial and it comes and goes, lasting for 10 to 15 seconds. My internist said perhaps I pulled a muscle: however, it feels more like a lung issue and is now on my left side as well. What are your thoughts about my condition
If you are having emphysema in both of your lungs, it seems while exercise your pain in chest can aggravate and radiate to arm as well. Hence, avoid vigorous exercise if you are doing and notice any shortness of breath during exercise and kindly inform it to your practitioner also.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shivika Nath, General & Family Physician
