What Causes Pain Under The Navel?

HI. I m 40 y.o. woman. For 2 days I ve been having pain right under my belly button and little bit to the right. Yesterday I had fever of 38C. Took 2 advils and it went away. The fever didn t come back today. I still have normal appetite. I went to the washroom today twice- 1st time normal, 2nd time- softer stool. If I sit crunched, when I stretch later it s painful. If I lay down it feels good. Walking is fine as well. If I press with my hands under the belly button and little bit on the right- I feel pain. I don t have any allergies or sensitivities. Pretty healthy person, not obese (62 kg, 170 cm). Any idea what could it be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a renal stone or urinary tract infection.

Consult a physician and plan for an ultrasound scan.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
