What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage And Rashes On The Body?

I have experienced severe pain under my rib cage on both sides that I compare to contractions at the early stage of labor. I am 44 and my cramps have never been this high up or severe. I also get this almost ringworm type rash at the beginning stage of my cycle. Could this be more serious than possible pre menopause?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The bilateral pain with rashes rules out herpes reactivation, and most common ones are staph skin infection or other viral lesions. My guidelines at present:
- Cleansing with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Local application of hydrocortisone cream
- Discuss the use of systemic antibiotics, anti-viral, anti-histamine with or without steroid as prednisolone or else with your treating physician
- Control of blood sugar

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
