What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage On The Right Side?

I have had pain under my right rib cage for about two months. Its a constant stabbing pain that gets worse as the day goes on. I also have extremely sensitive itchy skin. Anything that touches it feels like its scraping. I have been tested for h pylori and e coli: negative. I have tried prilosec, zantac, apples, apple cider vinegar, papaya, enzymes, magnesium, probiotics but it will not go away. Food tastes weird and I have lost weight. At first the pain was moving around and my stomach would burn but now its just constant under the right rib and i have a lump in my throat,

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Most probably it is due to conditions like costochondritis.

As the first line of management, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
