What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage Severe Coughing?

I ve had the flu and bronchitis for the past 17 days. I ve been to the doctor twice. At this point, I have coughed so much that I m not sure if the pain in my left side under the bottom of my rib cage is from all of the coughing or if it s something more serious such as rupturing my spleen. Before I run to the ER, any recommendations? Thanks, Justin

Your spleen may be ruptured only through a traumatic physical contact, such as playing football or wrestling.
Your pain seems to be caused by your cough, but it can also be related to some gastric problems due to the flu/bronchitis medicine you have used, or some dietary changes.
I hope I have helped you. Wish you good health.
