What Causes Pain Under The Ribs On The Left Side?

I am having dull pain on my left side, feels like it s under the ribs & I have one area of the lower left ribs that is sore. I have also had problems with diarrhea vs constipation. However, am taking Vascepa (1 gr ea) 4 per day plus Repatha shots, both for Cholesteral & Tryglercerides... Wonder if either of these could cause problems & what could cause the pain in my upper left side... Thank you

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get a X-ray chest and ultrasound abdomen done to rule out lung and splenic pathologies respectively though it seems to be muscular otherwise.

Sometimes cholesterol medications may also trigger muscle issues so CPK and LDH may also be needed. meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can help with the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
