What Causes Pain Under The Right Rib Cage?

My friend has pain on her right side, under rib cage.
It also hurts in her back. She is very tired and feels like she gets out of breath easier. Her liver enzymes are high. They're ruled out her gallbladder, which she had out a few months ago, but just did an ultrasound on. Oh and she's nauseated.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have pain under right rib cage and elevated live enzyme. It is suggestive of liver pathology. It could be due to viral hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis any growth in liver. I would suggest to wait for the USG report. It will tell about pathology of liver. Meanwhile you can take dan-MR tablet. Specific treatment will depend on the cause. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, and drink plenty of water.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
