What Causes Pain Under The Right Rib Cage?

I am having pain in my right ribs. They are sore to the touch and when I move it is uncomfortable. I am functioning fine, but watch how I carry my son etc so he doesn t press on my right side ribs. I do not remember doing anything to injure my ribs at any point. thanks, Julie

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to your complain, you have a problem of pain at the right side of rib cage area. Take one x-ray of rib cage to identify any fracture present or not.

Mention your intensity of pain that helps in diagnosis. Right side liver inflammation also leads to pain. Clinical examination of the site is helpful in your case. Consult a physician for further diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rachana Goswami
