What Causes Painful And Hard Knot On The Back Of Head?

Hi. A know appeared on the back left of my head 2 weeks ago. It is very hard and painful to the touch. I don t recall hitting it and it has no change of color to it. I have had continous headaches and occasionally get dizzy and sometimes a little nauseous. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello. Thanks for asking Healthcare Magic. A knot at the back of the head can be an abscess if it is painful. An abscess is a localized skin infection. Its is usually red and painful to touch. But it does not cause dizziness and headaches. I would suggest to get yourself investigated and examined for this. Thanks and regards.
