What Causes Painful Big Boil On The Inner Thigh?

i have a relly big boil on inner thigh very pain full!!!! I went to doctor yesterday he gavee me cephalexin and said come back in 7 days........ I cant take the pain it is soo bad the the inner thigh is red around the boil and oain down my leg what is going on??

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a painful boil on the inner thigh can be due to either infected gland in the area or hairfollicle infection also known as Folliculitis while can also be due to infection in the skin leading to pus formation under the skin and formation of a painful lump.
It is commonly due to bacterial infection, therefore the medication that is Cephalexin given to you is an appropriate as it is an antibiotic and treats bacterial infection..
Along with it you can also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain..
You can apply an antibiotic ointment over it..
Do cool compresses..
In case if there is no improvement consult a General surgeon and he can do an Incision and drainag followed by antibiotics and painkillers to relieve soon.
